RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE

Ho Chi Minh City banned gatherings of more than three.

MEASURES

  • Ho Chi Minh City is currently the second largest hotspot in the country, since the fourth wave that started end-April.
  • In the new announcement by the City, people are required to keep a distance of at least 1.5 meter apart in public places and are encouraged to stay in places of residences, unless for emergencies, purchase of food and medicine, work at factories and other kind of activities that is specified by the municipal Department of Health.
  • Public agencies and businesses are required to minimise direct contacts and switch to online working.
  • Lockdown will be imposed to areas that are carry either high or very high risk.
  • Testing will continue on, in particular at processing, industrial and high-tech parks.
  • Local large firms reflected that more support is needed in terms of policies, rather than financial assistance, which would be a more effective measure in the longer term for larger firms. As the pandemic has created opportunities for firms, smoother mechanism and simpler administrative procedures can allow businesses to focus on production.
