ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
Updates on Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase in Malaysia.
MEASURES
- Starting from 15 July, the schools will reopen in stages. Based on the issued guidelines, the schools have the right to choose the model of operation that suits for the schools. The reopening of schools shall be carried out in accordance with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- On 8 July, the Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad announced that 30% of private higher education institutions can start returning from July and it is expected that all higher education campuses will fully reopen in October 2020.
- Meanwhile, on 6 July, it was reported that the government is still working with Singapore on the details to reopen the Malaysia-Singapore border to facilitate the travels of different types of workers. The discussion focused on tackling three issues, including
– Business travels between Malaysia and Singapore
– SOPs for the returns of Malaysian who had been living in Singapore for over three months
– Malaysians who commute daily for work
