MEASURES
- On 27 February 2021, it was reported that the government announced the 10 areas, including Metro Manila, Baguio City, Apayao, Kalinga, Mt. Province, Batangas, Tacloban City, Iligan City, Davao City and Lanao Del Sur will subject to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until 31 March 2021. While the rest of the country will be placed under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
- The activities shall be carried out in compliance with the requirements stated in the Omnibus Guidelines on the Implementation of Community Quarantine in the Philippines.
- On 18 March 2021, it was reported that the Inter-Agency Task Force ordered temporary closure for some businesses within the GCQ areas. The businesses include driving schools, cinemas, gaming arcades, museums and cultural centers in areas under the GCQ areas will be closed until 4 April and these sectors were recently reopened in March.
- On 21 March 2021, it was reported that GCQ will be enforced for Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and national capital region from 22 March to 4 April.
IMPACT ON FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN
- Under GCQ, businesses and employees involved in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food manufacturing and food supply chain businesses (supermarkets, grocery stores, food preparation establishments for take-away & delivery only, food delivery services) are allowed to operate at full operational capacity. Restaurants and cafes are only allowed to operate with 30% venue capacity.
- Under MGCQ, similar to GCQ, all the businesses and employees involved in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food manufacturing and food supply chain businesses (supermarkets, grocery stores, food preparation establishments for take-away & delivery only, food delivery services) are allowed to operate at full operational capacity. A maximum of fifty percent (50%) of seating capacity has been given to the restaurants and cafes for the operations.
