MEASURES
- On 13 August, it was reported that a sample of frozen chicken wings imported from Brazil has been tested posted for COVID-19 in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. All related products in stock have been sealed off and the authorities are now tracing related products from the same brand that have already been sold in market.
- In July, the packaging and containers of imported shrimp have been tested positive for COVID-19. Since then, the China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) has strengthened screening controls on imported products. The industry shall continue to monitor the progress of the issue development.
- On 10 and 12 August, the China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) updated the list of meat eligible for export to China from countries or regions that meet the requirements of assessment and review. Temporary import suspension has been voluntarily raised by a Argentina-based poultry products exporter. Meanwhile, importation of beef products from an Argentina-based company has resumed.
