RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
The Sri Lanka National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak issued guidelines to curb COVID.
MEASURES
- On 1 May 2021, the National Operation Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak issued the following regulations effective from 1 May 2021:
- Conferences/seminars/meetings/brand launches are banned until 21 May 2021.
- Supermarkets, shopping malls, financial institutions, textile shops, retail shops, open markets, fairs, bakeries, and courts should operate at 25% of total customer capacity.
- Prohibition of events and public gatherings in closed and open spaces, including carnivals, musical shows, beach parties/festivals.
- Prohibition of religious gatherings.
- Closure of cinema halls and theaters, children’s parks, swimming pools, pubs and bars, casinos and night clubs, betting centers, spa centers, schools, pre-schools, universities, institutes of higher learning and tuition classes.
- Hotels, rest houses and guest houses shall operate at 50% of total capacity and shall not function after 10 pm.
- Prohibition of visiting prison inmates.
- Weddings are not permitted from 4 May 2021 to 20 May 2021.
