RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE

Two preparatory stages of transition out of Phase 2 Heightened Alert.

MEASURES

  • On 6 August 2021, the Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) announced updated vaccinated-differentiated safe management measures (SMMs) in two stages to prepare transition towards COVID resilience. The first and second stage will take effect from 10 August 2021 and 19 August 2021 respectively, if the condition remain stable.
    • Step 1: 10 August – 18 August 2021
      • Increase in social gathering group size from 2 to 5 person (unvaccinated individuals should remain in groups of no more than 2)
      • Increase the cap of distinct visitors to 5 per household per day
      • Fully vaccinated individuals may participate in groups of 5 in higher risk activities where masks are removed
      • Groups of up to 5 persons will be allowed to dine-in at F&B establishments if all are fully vaccinated
      • Hawker centres and coffee shop are subject to a smaller group size of up to 2 person regardless of vaccination status
    •  Step 2: 19 August 2021 onwards
      • Events such as MICE, live performances can take place up to 1,000 attendees if all are fully vaccinated
      • Up to 50% of employees who can work from home can return to the workplace
      • Removal of temperature screening requirement in public premises
      • With effect from 1 October 2021, “vaccine or regular test” regime will be introduced to various selected workforce, such as healthcare, eldercare sector and settings with children 12 years and below, high-risk mask-off settings, and public service sector
