ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
The country embarked on a three-phased approach to resume activities and businesses as the circuit breaker came to an end on 2 June.
MEASURES
- With the start of Phase One (“Safe Re-opening”), the government has explored the piloting of fast lane arrangements with a few other countries and regions to allow essential activities overseas and safe travel for foreigners entering the country in limited numbers.
- Singapore and China have agreed to create a fast lane to facilitate essential business and official travel between both countries. As a start, fast lane will be established between six Chinese provinces and municipalities (Chongqing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Tianjin and Zhejiang) and Singapore.
- Inbound business or official travellers to Singapore that are sponsored by government agencies may submit applications through their respective sponsors from 8 June. Applications for company-sponsored travellers will come in a later phase.
- Besides China, SIngapore is also in bilateral discussions with several countries about opening channels for travel, including Malaysia, South Korea, New Zealand.
