ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
Cargo drivers from Malaysia to receive immunisation certificate after vaccination.
MEASURES
- The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announced that Malaysian cargo drivers and accompanying personnel who have completed both doses of COVID-19 vaccination will receive an immunisation certificate and will be exempted from on-arrival tests.
- The eligibility of drivers will be determined based on the frequency of their trips between borders. The vaccination remains as voluntary and testing may still be conducted from time to time.
- Cargo drivers who have not gone through vaccination will still be permitted to cross the border with the necessary health measures on arrival.
- It is expected that the vaccination that is provided for cargo drivers will shorten the waiting time at the borders and avoid delays due to mandatory COVID-19 test that is required for cargo drivers entering Singapore through land checkpoints as part of the government’s measures to strengthen border controls.
