RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
The current community quarantine continues in place.
MEASURES
- The current community quarantine continues in place until 15 June 2020 with adherence to the Resolution No. 41 and 42. The country remains in either Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) or General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until 15 June 2020.
- On 11 June, the President Rodrigo Duterte announced that the reclassifications in the country will be announced on 15 June. It is expected that the announcement will include the reclassifications and new quarantine rule that will be implemented nationwide beginning 16 June 2020. It was noted that the quarantine classifications might be downgraded in certain areas of the country, where MGCQ might be implemented for areas which are undergoing GCQ and new rules will be implemented for areas which are undergoing MGCQ.
IMPACT ON FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN
- Under MGCQ and GCQ, the food sector remains unhampered in terms of operations.
- For GCQ, Category I (Industries), including businesses and employees involved in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, food manufacturing and food supply chain businesses (supermarkets, grocery stores, food preparation establishments, food delivery services) are allowed to operate at full operational capacity. Under the MGCQ, for abovementioned Category I, the industries are allowed to operate at maximum operational capacity.
- In addition, the Resolution No. 42 has allowed the restaurants to provide dine-in service to the customers.
