Extension of travel ban to India and 6 other countries due to the Delta variant diseases.


  • On 29 June 2021, it was announced that the government shall extend the travel ban for travellers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to prevent the possible entry of Delta variant disease, until 15 July 2021.
    • However, outbound passengers, including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), are still allowed to go to India and six other countries.
    • Filipinos in countries covered by temporary travel ban will still be allowed to return home, so long as they are covered by the government’s repatriation efforts
  •  In addition, it was announced that individuals who have been fully vaccinated in “Green” countries will only have to spend seven days in a quarantine facility upon their arrival in the Philippines.
    • “Green” countries are those classified as ‘Low Risk’ countries or jurisdictions based on disease incidence rate.”
    • Such classification will be done by Department of Health.
