New Zealand mulls collaboration with both China and Australia.

- China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on New Zealand (NZ) to expedite collaboration between the two countries via the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It has been suggested NZ can “fill [China’s] demand gap” on foods like wine, beef and dairy products.
- NZ’s Maritime Union revealed COVID-19 exposed pre-existing weaknesses in NZ shipping. The Union thus called for the government to tweak the Maritime Transport Act, as it would allow NZ to better focus on business in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
