ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
New Zealand curbs on food retail to continue.
- On 27 August 2021, New Zealand (NZ) Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced lockdown curbs would be eased from 31 August, except for Auckland and Northland. However, dine-in is still prohibited.
- On 1 September 2021, NZ farming sector representative Winton Dalley urged the Government to further ease lockdown curbs. Dalley says production would drop significantly under the current curbs. In addition to Covid-19, the farming sector is also dealing with climate change and shipping delays.
