RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
Domestic freight forwarders face uncertainties amidst disruption in local manufacturing.
UPDATES
- Since February, all types of cargo have been impacted, with limited road, sea and air freights.
- The lack of equipment, such as containers, as well as the rise in sea freight rates have resulted in challenges for import of materials and export of goods.
- Domestic transportation is impacted by the ongoing curfew in most places and checkpoints, resulting in inefficiency in the transport of goods.
- Factories in other non-food sectors have diverted orders to neighbouring countries. Due to the limited orders, some factories have shut down or reduced operating capacity.
