RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
COVID-19 preventive measures extended to end of the year.
- The National Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of COVID-19 announced the extension of restrictions to 31 December as cases remain high.
- The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that domestic flights will resume operations on 16 December and only travellers who pass the health screening will be allowed to board the flight. Following the announcement, the Ministry of Health and Sports released health procedures for airlines and airport staff and travellers on 15 December.
- On 10 December, the Sagaing regional government issued stay at home order for Sagaing, Shwe Bo and Kalay townships. The restrictions in the townships are in effect until 24 December. Businesses permitted to operate are required to apply for permission from the township management committee to allow the movement of employees. Employers of food and delivery service workers are required to obtain entry or exit permits for the townships.
