Relaxations for fully vaccinated individuals.


  • On 19 August 2021, it was reported that fully vaccinated individuals will be allowed to carry out more activities and this applicable to individuals who stay in the states that are under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP). The permitted activities include but not limited to:
    • Dine-in at food establishments;
    • Camping and picnics;
    • Non-contact sports and recreational activities;
    • Visit night markets.
  •  On this note, individuals will only be considered as fully vaccinated if they meet the following requirements:
    • 14 days after receiving second dose of the Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, or Sinovac vaccine;
    • 28 days after receiving Johnson & Johnson or CanSino vaccine
  • The relaxations have been decided as Malaysia has reached the threshold of having 50% adult population fully vaccinated.
  • Meanwhile, the NRP remains in force in the country
    • Four states, including Johor, Kedah, Melaka, Selangor, as well as the two federal territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) remain under Phase 1 of NRP;
    • Seven states, including Kelantan, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Sabah, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan (Negeri Sembilan is the seventh state which entered into Phase 2 on 26 August 2021), are currently placed under Phase 2 of NRP;
    • Two states, including Sarawak and Perlis, are placed under Phase 3 of NRP.
    • One federal territory, Labuan, entered into Phase 4 of NRP on 26 August 2021.
