Malaysia reduced quarantine period for overseas travellers.

  • Starting from 14 December, the quarantine period for overseas travellers will be reduced to 10 days.
  • Previously, the overseas travellers were required to serve a 14-day quarantine once entering Malaysia.
  • Based on the clinical scientific reports as well as quarantine practices from the other countries, the government has decided to move forward with a shorter quarantine period.
  • The 10-day mandatory quarantine will apply to both overseas travellers and individuals who are the close contacts of COVID-19 cases.
  • The quarantine shall be carried out at home or designated quarantine centres.
