- The current lockdown that covers the whole nation was imposed on 19 June and was set to end on 4 July.
- New clusters continue to build up and the increasing cases in neighbouring countries continue to present a risk to the country as hundreds of Lao labourers enter the border from neighbouring country can potentially bring in the virus.
- From 6-8 July, the Prime Minister chaired the government meeting to discuss on ways to respond to the pandemic, as well as economic and financial difficulties in the country. At the meeting, officials reviewed the actions in the past six months and made plans for the rest of the year, including national agendas on overcoming economic and financial difficulties and drug abuse.
