ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
The government’s focus on reviving economy, seeking balance between virus control.
MEASURES
- Following the end of emergency state in Japan (25 May 2020), on 3 June, the prefectural governors discussed joint proposals focusing on reviving country’s economy which heavily affected by COVID-19 while continuing efforts in virus control in the country. The governors called for continuously promotion of remote working and online meetings even after the state of emergency was lifted.
- In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) issued the updated border enforcement measures, including denial of permission to entry for foreign nationals, quarantine measures, suspension of visa validity, suspension of visa exemption measures and restrictions on airport/ports for arrival.
- The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) continues its efforts in providing the latest food supply status in Japan.
