ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
The government starts easing travel restrictions.
MEASURES
- On 23 June, as the first step of easing travel bans, the Foreign Minister, Toshimitsu Motegi announced that the travel restrictions with Vietnam will be partially relaxed. Flights will be permitted between the two countries from 25 to 27 June.
- Along with Vietnam, the government is in discussions with other countries, including Thailand, Australia and New Zealand to mutually ease travel restrictions. The permitted travellers shall fulfil the requirements, including negative result for COVID-19 test before the departure and submission of the itinerary. In addition, the mandatory 14-day quarantine will be exempted for business travellers.
