ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
The government started lifting entry restrictions while carefully managing the situation in the country.
MEASURES
- On 22 July, the Japanese government announced that it will partially lift the entry restrictions to allow foreigners, including students and business workers who hold legal status to enter the country. They are required to submit the COVID-19 negative results upon arrival. The enforcement date and relevant details will be provided by the government in due course.
- At the same time, on 22 July, the government has decided to postpone the relaxation on the attendance limits for large events until end of August 2020. The relaxation was granted on 10 July to allow a maximum number of people at an indoor venue to 5,000, however, it has been postponed following an upsurge in the number of reported cases.
