The government has lifted the emergency nationwide.

MEASURES

  • In early of March, the Japanese government decided to extend the state of emergency for Tokyo and three prefectures (Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama) until 21 March, 2021.
  • On 22 March 2021, the government lifted the emergency nationwide. However, the restaurants and bars in Tokyo, Kanagawa, China and Saitama will be asked to be closed by 9 p.m. until the end of March.
  • Previously, the restaurants and bars are advised to operate business until 8 p.m. under the emergency state.
