ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE

Following the end of emergency state in Japan, the government continues working on recovery plans for different aspects including but not limited to economy and travelling.

MEASURES

  • On 10 June, the Japan’s lower house of parliament approved an emergency budget worth nearly US$300 billion as part of the efforts in reviving economy in Japan. The emergency budget aims to provide financial assistances to the businesses, cash handouts for medical workers. The budget will be circulated to the upper house of parliament to approve and it will be enacted in due course.
  • In addition, Japan plans to ease the travel restrictions by allowing essential business travels from markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Vietnam to enter Japan. The details of the plan will be shared soon. Currently, Japan has an entry ban in place for 111 countries and regions.
