RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE

Japan amended quarantine measures.

MEASURES

  • On 2 August 2021, a few amendments have been made to the quarantine measures.
    • It was announced that travellers arriving in Japan from Afghanistan will have to undergo a six-day quarantine at a governmentdesignated facility while conducting the mandatory 14-day quarantine. Those who obtain negative result of COVID-19 test performed on the third and sixth days from the entry into Japan may leave the facility and will be requested to serve selfquarantine in self-arranged facility for the remaining period of 14 days. This will come into effect from 5 August onwards.
    • Furthermore, it was announced that the travellers arriving in Japan from Georgia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Finland, States of Indiana, Kansas, Texas (United States of America), Luxembourg, Astrahan Oblast, Udmurt Republic, Krasnoyarsk Krai, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Tyva Republic (Russia) will be required to stay in government-designated facility for three days while conducting the mandatory 14-day quarantine. Those who obtain negative result of COVID-19 test performed on the third day from the entry into Japan may leave the facility and will be requested to serve self-quarantine at home for the remaining period of 14 days. This will come into effect from 5 August onwards.
