Japan amended quarantine measures for travellers.

MEASURES

  • On 15 July 2021, a few amendments have been made to the quarantine measures.
    • It was announced that travellers arriving in Japan from Moscow (Russia) will have to undergo a six-day quarantine at a government-designated facility while conducting the mandatory 14-day quarantine. This will come into effect from 18 July
      onwards. At the same time, travellers from Moscow (Russia) will need to undergo two tests on the third and sixth day of the quarantine period.
    • Furthermore, it was announced that the travellers from Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Namibia, Sakha Republic(Russia) will be required to stay in government-designated facility for three days while conducting the mandatory 14-day quarantine. This will come into effect from 18 July onwards.
    • In addition, it was announced that travellers from the following countries will not be required to stay in government-designated facilities provided their test results are negative upon arrival. However, they are still requested to undergo self-quarantine for 14 days after entering Japan. This will come into effect from 18 July onwards.
