President Joko Widodo formed two task forces to overcome COVID-19.

MEASURES

  • Two task forces were formed to deal with the impact of COVID-19, namely the COVID-19 Handling Task Force and the National Economic Recovery Task Force. The task forces are set up with the aim to keep the economic recovery and COVID-19 prevention programme. The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs is going to be the institution that will coordinate the team to formulate policies for handling COVID-19, as prescribed in the Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2020 on the COVID-19 Handling Task Force and the National Economic Recovery Task Force. Minister of State-Owned Enterprises was appointed to serve as the Chief Executive to coordinate between the two task forces.
  • The COVID-19 Handling Task Force is chaired by the National Disaster Management Authority. The task force’s duties are as follows:- Implement and control the implementation of strategic policies relating to the handling of COVID-19
    – Resolve issues in implementing strategic policies related to the handling of COVID-19, as effectively and quickly
    – Supervise the implementation of strategic policies relating to the handling of COVID-19
    – Establish and implement policies and other measurements needed in accelerating the handling of COVID-19
  • The National Economic Recovery Task Force is chaired by the Vice Minister of State-Owned Enterprises. The Task Force’s duties are as follows:

    – Implement and control the implementation of strategic policies relating to national economic recovery
    – Resolve problems in implementing strategic policies related to the recovery and transformation of the national economy, including problems faced by the real sectors as quickly and accurately
    – Supervise the implementation of strategic policies relating to national economic recovery and transformation
    – Establish and implement policies and other measurements needed in the recovery and transformation of the national economy
