RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
India enters ‘’Unlock 4’’.
MEASURES
- The phase ‘’Unlock 4’’ has been introduced and all activities shall adhere to the requirements as stipulated in the Guidelines for Phased Re-opening (Unlock 4) , including:
- All activities in areas outside Containment Zones will be permitted, excluding the following activities with specific requirements
- Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will continue to remain closed with special circumstances excluded. The special circumstances include but not limited to states/union territories may allow up to 50% of teaching and non-teaching staffs to work at schools for online teaching/tele counselling. Besides, students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, on voluntary basis, for taking guidance from teachers. These will be permitted with effect from 21 September 2020.
- Metro rail will be allowed to operate from 7 September in a graded manner.
- Social/academic/sports/entertainment/cultural/religious/political-related events will be allowed from 21 September with strict requirements (maximum 100 people, with mandatory masks wearing, social distancing, thermal scanning and hand washing).
- Cinema halls, swimming pools and entertainment parks, theatres remain closed. However, open air theatres will be allowed to resume operation from 21 September 2020.
- Lockdown remains in force in the Containment Zones until 30 September, 2020 and only essential activities will be allowed, where no movement of people in or out of these zones, except for medical emergencies and for maintaining supply of essential goods and services.
- The local government may impose restrictions on certain activities outside the Containment Zones, as deemed necessary.
- All activities in areas outside Containment Zones will be permitted, excluding the following activities with specific requirements
- In addition, the National Directives for COVID-19 Management shall continue remain in force throughout the country.
IMPACT ON FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN
- For food sector, the food manufacturing activities remain unhampered. Based on the Guidelines, there shall be no restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods. No additional approval/permission will be required for these forms of movements.
