ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
Extension of temporary alternative measures for the submission of certificates for food safety and sanitation purpose.
MEASURES
- On 5 May, due to movement impact of airfreight and courier mail as a result of COVID-19, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) notified the WTO (G/SPS/N/TPKM/530) of the temporary alternative measures for the submission of certificates for food safety and sanitation purpose. The temporary measures are- Imported food, which are regulated to be accompanied with the certificates, are allowed with a copy of original certificate.
– Once the food products are inspected by TFDA and are compliant with the food safety and sanitary regulations, the permission notice will be issued, and the importers shall submit the original certificate in a timely manner. - The temporary measures were announced to be enforced from 1 April to 30 June 2020.
- On 30 June, the TFDA notified the WTO (G/SPS/N/TPKM/530/Add.1) of the extension of the above mentioned measures. The temporary alternative measures will be enforced until 31 August 2020.
