Government continues to ease travel-related restrictions.


  • On 24 June, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced further relaxations for travellers from Hong Kong and Macao. Residents from Hong Kong and Macao may apply to enter Taiwan for special reasons. The permitted situations include:

    – Special humanitarian reasons or emergency situations
    – Contractual obligations
    – Internal transfer within multinational enterprises
    – Foreign national who possesses status of residence in Taiwan
    – Spouse or child of foreign national who possesses status of residence in Taiwan

  • Relevant certificates (e.g. negative COVID-19 test certificate) shall be prepared for inspection. The travellers will subject to the 14-day home quarantine upon arrival.
  • In addition, starting from 25 June, the transit of travellers has been allowed at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
