The government gradually loosens measures as the number of cases is decreasing steadily.

  • As of 14 May, Taiwan goes 32 days without local transmission case, and 7 days with no imported infection.
  • For the food and beverage industry, a few observations are summarised as follow:

    – The supply of imported wheat from United States is stable and sufficient by the beginning of October.
    – The demand of certain food products (instant noodles, canned food and frozen food) is increasing. In addition, the sales of packaged water and tea beverages have been increased significantly too.
    – The price and import volume for vegetable oils and soybeans remains the same as the same period last year. However, production volume has been decreased by 20% due to the lowered demand from restaurants.
