On 1 June, most companies, shops and restaurants in Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyitaw fully resumed operations.
MEASURES
- Myanmar has gradually eased COVID-19 restrictions after no new reported local transmissions of the disease for two weeks.
- Insein and Mayangone at Yangon are the only townships that are still subjected to community lockdowns.
- The Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment on COVID-19 released health measures to be followed for foreigners travelling into Myanmar where they will have to fulfil a 21-day quarantine – one week home quarantine before flying, another one week in quarantine facility after arriving in Myanmar and the final week of home quarantine in Myanmar, before allowed to start work. They will also have to produce a certificate to confirm that they are free from COVID-19 and have completed one week of home quarantine before flying.
