On 27 April, the Ministry of Commerce issued a statement to allow online applications to extend exporter/importer registration certificates until the end of July.
MEASURES
- Since 1 April, export/import permits can be issued through online system, including HS code lines for 73 export items and 742 import items have also gone online.
- Since 20 April, the Department of Customs also reduced customs duties for businesses that operates using the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS).
- To reduce the amount of paperwork that is needed, an electronic version of Form D for preferential tariff treatment in ASEAN is to be issued to ease the procedures between all the ASEAN countries
IMPACT ON FOOD SUPPLY CHAIN
- Businesses can leverage on the online system to obtain the relevant licence for import and export activities to minimise disruptions to businesses.
