On 15 April, Prime Minister Thongloun announced the 14-day extension of the nationwide lockdown to 3 May.
MEASURES
- On 29 March, Prime Minister’s Order No. 06/PM on Reinforcement Measures on Containment, Prevention and Full Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic was issued which directed people to stay at home for three weeks to 19 April.
- On 15 April, the Prime Minister’s Office issued an official notice on the relaxation of certain restrictions on essential businesses and projects that would result in the reduction of the negative impact on the nation’s economy. With this notice, relevant authorities are expediting the drafting and implementation of measures in order for certain businesses to reopen during the extension period.
- Future legislation is expected to be released soon to detail the businesses that are eligible for reopening.
