Foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal matters and reunion will be allowed to enter China without applying for new visas.

MEASURES

  • On 23 September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The People’s Republic of China announced that foreign nationals holding valid Chinese residence permits for work, personal matters and reunion will be allowed to enter China with no requirements without applying for new visas.
  • If the residence permits have expired, the holders may apply for visas by presenting the expired residence permits and materials to the Chinese embassies in their countries.
  • This will come into force on 28 September.
