RESTRICTIONS STILL IN PLACE
Phnom Penh opens up with introduction of new measures for factories.
MEASURES
- On 21 May, the 8pm-3am curfew in yellow zone in Phnom Penh and the ban on the sale of alcoholic drinks were lifted.
- In view of the ongoing rise in cases, in particular amongst garment factory workers, Phnom Penh City Hall has implemented stricter controls on factories.
- Factories that are found to violate the conditions set by the Labor Advisory Committee (LAC) could be penalised with temporary closure up to three days.
- The LAC recommended a limitation of 50% workforce in factories to work in rotation every two weeks. The government is giving priority is to those that are vaccinated. Workers placed in the first shift (first two weeks) should received at least one dose of vaccine, COVID19 test certificate, and do not stay in areas that require COVID-19 testing.
