ENTERING RECOVERY PHASE
Australia faces lockdown as cases escalate.
MEASURES
- On 31 July 2021, Singapore’s Ministry of Health announced all travellers with a travel history to Australia in the past 21 days are to serve a 14-day stay-home notice at dedicated facilities. This is due to a recent increase in cases reported by Australia.
- In response to the outbreak, on 2 August 2021, the Queensland state government extended lockdown in Australia’s third-largest city Brisbane. The Brisbane lockdown was due to end on 3 August but will now stay in place until 8 August.
- The Western Australian government revealed on 3 August 2021 it is considering a ban on crew change and onshore visits for foreign vessels. This is to control coronavirus transmissions from shipping.
